Tulip La Delicatesse
New! This luscious beauty opens pale yellow and matures to ivory and then white with a stunning merlot base that blends to whisper rose-pink on each of its amply-filled petals. While visiting the North Holland bulb growers’ forcing shows in February, hybridizer Thijs and Paula Langeveld directed our attention to it, then called Pistache, asking if it smelled like sweet almonds. Indeed it does. Tulip Class: Peony Flowering (Double Late). Bulb size: 11 cm/up. Bloom time: April/May. Horticultural zones 3-7. Plant 6" to 8" deep and 6" apart. Height: 16” to 18".
