    Circa 1836, Ipheion uniflorum is native to the more temporate zones of South America. Commonly known as the Spring Star Flower, it has spicy-scented, star-shaped flowers that range from white to pale blue to deep periwinkle. Bee-loved, deer- and rodent-resistant, its grass-like foliage smells like garlic when crushed. It is a good naturalizer in full sun, and is lovely planted in lawns (with later mowing), in border clusters and in rock gardens. Bulb size: 4 cm/up. April/May. Plant 4” deep and 4” apart. HZ: 5-9. Height: 3” to 6”.
