Narcissus Actaea
(9 W-YYR) Fragrant Actaea is an award-winning naturalizer introduced back in 1919. It's hard to imagine that it will soon be 100 years old, and that it is still growing so strong. This cherished heirloom has a large, 3 1/2", rounded, pure white perianth and a small, shallow yellow cup, edged scarlet-red with a yellow-green eye. Narcissus Class: Poeticus (Royal Horticultural Society Division 9). Bulb size: 14/16 cm. April/May. HZ: 3-7. Height: 14" to 16".

Poeticus Narcissi
Traditionally known as the Poet's Narcissi, these fragrant, naturalizing heirlooms usually yield one flower per stem with large glistening white petals (perianth) and a short or disk-shaped cup (corona) with a green and/or yellow center and a red rim. They are also much loved for the fact that deer and rodents do not like to eat them!
All Narcissi tolerate a wide range of sunlight from full sun to semi-shade. Narcissi prefer well-draining soil, hate to get wet feet and love to be fed with a 4-10-6 or 5-10-5 granular organic flower bulb fertilizer three times a year. Allow the foliage to thrive and die back naturally without braiding or premature removal. DNII bulb size: 14/16 cm, unless otherwise noted. Bloom time in a horticultural zone 5: April/May. Plant 6" to 8" deep and 6" apart. Horticultural zones 3-7.Height: 14" to 16", depending upon variety. Narcissus classification: Royal Horticultural Society Division 9.
