Christmas Flowering Miniature Amaryllis
Hybridized to create a well-proportioned plant and a huge flower from a smaller bulb, our South African Hippeastrum strains will bloom in four to six weeks once potted due to the fact that they are harvested in the southern hemisphere. These ravishing miniature varieties are fabulous for early Christmas blooms and are known to be fast growing and reliable.
Prior to potting, store these bulbs at a consistent, dry 41 to 45 degrees Fahrenheit with good ventilation to prevent premature sprouting. Please use a well-draining, neutral pH, sterile soil medium. Make sure that the bulb "nose" is above the rim of the pot and that the bulb "shoulder" is just above the soil surface. Water after potting and tamp down the soil. Keep the soil slightly moist with tepid watering, but please do not over water as this will inhibit root formation. These exotic plants usually have two stems, 10" to 16" tall, with each producing four 3" to 6" wide, trumpet-like flowers. Amaryllis also make superb cut flowers for dramatic arrangements and bouquets. Bulb size: 24/26 cm unless otherwise noted. Shipped bareroot for planting in your own containers.
